Methodology
FitzGibbons Navigation
At FitzGibbons Associates, Inc., we follow the standards established by Dr. Edward Schein from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in his classic book “Process Consultation”. The steps we follow are these:
  • Formulate the problem [with the client as an active participant]
  • Develop a proposal to address the problem
  • Develop a work plan for actions to address the problem
  • Prepare the action to address the problem
  • Implement the action to address the situation
  • Measure results and follow up as appropriate.
At each of these steps, we expect the client to actively participate and be involved in our work. We build long-term relationships by carefully forging the right solution with the interests of our client foremost in our mind. Each situation is different, each client has a different culture that they operate in, and each solution we propose is unique to those circumstances.

You can count on us to carefully diagnose your problem and provide a custom solution to your situation. Yes, there are times when a “quick and dirty” approach will work, and if that is the right answer we’ll recommend it. But you should know that we have followed good consulting practices to arrive at this solution.

In the long run, we feel that attention at the front end; careful diagnosis and solution construction can avoid problems later on. It’s your business to run a successful enterprise, and it’s our business to help you run it more effectively and efficiently.
